Athlete from Turkmenistan Bagrat Gasanbekov won a bronze medal in the long jump at the IV Open Championship of Central Asia in Athletics in Samarkand.
The 19 years old Turkmen athlete showed the result of 7,60 meters. The first was Ildar Akhmadiev (7,73 m) from Tajikistan. Silver went to Anvar Anvarov (7,61 m) from Uzbekistan.
Long jump competitions were held among eight athletes from four countries.
The IV Open Championship of Central Asia in Athletics started on September 24 in Samarkand. Within the framework of international competitions, 56 sets of awards in 41 athletics disciplines will be played. Samarkand for the first time became the venue for the open championship of Central Asia in athletics. More than 300 athletes arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in international competitions.
