On September 19, at the Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkuli was conducted the presentation of the book “30 ancient Persian fairytales”, published in two languages: Turkmen and Farsi. The event was organized by the cultural center at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan jointly with Mahtumkuli University.

It is notable that the date of the presentation of the storybook coincide with the Poetry Day of Shahriyar, the great Iranian poet, which is celebrated in his homeland.

The event was attended by Deputy Ambassador of Iran to Turkmenistan Mahmoud Sadeghi, Adviser on Iranian Culture in Turkmenistan Navid Rasuli, representatives of the city community, students of humanitarian universities of Ashgabat, as well as translators who worked on the book.

According to the cultural adviser, the collection includes those plots from eight volumes of Iranian fairy tales that are most culturally close to both peoples, and can also carry an instructive example to young readers.

Moreover, Navid Rasuli and Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of the University Annaev Durdymurad Babagulyevich noted that they would make joint efforts to develop relations.

During the presentation, poems of the Persian poets were performed by students. All participants were presented with copies of the book “30 ancient Persian fairytales” in capacity of memorable gifts.
