On October 10, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will visit the Russian Federation with an official visit by the invitation of the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko. It was said by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the talks with the Russian college Vladimir Putin which were held on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Samarkand, RIA Novosti reports.
“On the tenth of October this year, the Chairman of the upper house of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, dear Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, will visit the Russian Federation at the invitation of the Speaker of the Federation Council” , Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
The Head of Turkmenistan noted with satisfaction the high level of bilateral political relations with Russia, the significant strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, systematic contacts at the government level, as well as regular consultations between foreign ministries, contribute to the progressive development of bilateral relations.
The constructive nature is inherent in the cooperation of the two states within the framework of reputable regional and international organizations. In this regard, the Head of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to his Russian counterpart for the continued support of the neutral foreign policy of the country and its initiatives in the UN and other international structures.
The President of Turkmenistan noted the positive dynamics of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, as well as in the fuel and energy sector, as evidenced by the agreements reached in the field of supplies of Turkmen natural gas to the Russian Federation.
He, also, called the transport and communication field, an important direction of the partnership where the role of transport, transit corridors and logistics, as per the opinion of the Head of Turkmenistan, is gaining strategic significance.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov also reported that in the aims of deepening long-lasting ties in the sphere of education at present time the question of the opening of the Turkmen – Russian University in Ashgabat is considered.
