The composition of the men’s and women’s national weightlifting team of Turkmenistan for the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in Türkiye has become known, the competition’s official website reports.
Weightlifting competition will be held in Konya on August 11 – 15. Athletes will compete for sets of awards in 10 weight categories.
14 athletes of the national team of Turkmenistan, eight men and six women, went to compete for the medals.
The women's team included Sangiza Bahtiyarova, Byagul Berdyeva, Yulduz Jumabayeva, Gulnabat Kadyrova, Kristina Shermetova and Aysoltan Toychieva.
The men's team will feature Rustem Annaberdyev, Muhammet Dovranov, Davranbek Hasanbaev, Ihtiyor Matkerimov, Maksat Meredov, Shatlyk Shohradov, Hojamuhammet Toychiev and Hydyrberdy Yagmyrov.

At the V Islamic Solidarity Games, which will last until August 18, more than 4 thousand athletes from 56 countries will compete for 483 sets of medals in 24 sports. Competitions are held at 14 sites in Konya.
