The World Congress of Tatars is an interregional public organization. It unites over 350 national-cultural public organizations whose activities are aimed at promoting the cultural and socio-economic development of the Tatar people. For the first time the congress was convened by the Decree of the President of Tatarstan in June 1992, subsequently it met every five years.
