The delegation from Turkmenistan participated in the meeting of the Council on Industrial Policy of the CIS countries, the agenda of which included the development of promising sectors of the economy, and also the expansion of cooperation in the field of waste management of electronic and electrical equipment.
As reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the participants noted the huge amount of work done over the last period in such areas as the chemical industry, oil and gas engineering, the use of natural gas as a motor fuel.
Also the participants stressed the need to develop certain promising sectors of the economy, such as the light, food and mining and metallurgical industries, the automotive industry, the timber industry, and also the production of machinery and equipment for road works.
During the meeting, the draft Concept for the Development of Industrial Cooperation of the CIS Member States and the Set of Measures for the Development of Industrial Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2030 were presented.
It was also reported that drafts of the Concept of Cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Energy Sector until 2035 and the Plan of Priority Actions for its Implementation are being developed, notes the source.
