Turkmenistan intends to join such documents of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) as the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters and the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement on the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information.
At a meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan on July 18, Deputy Prime Minister H. Geldimyradov reported that, in accordance with the relevant Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Finance and Economy has conducted work to study the feasibility of the country's accession to these documents.
In this regard, a corresponding proposal was submitted to the head of state for consideration.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the country attaches particular importance to developing partnerships with authoritative international structures and improving national legislation. Having approved the proposal on the advisability of Turkmenistan joining the Convention and Agreement of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to carry out the necessary work in this direction, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
