The World Health Organization (WHO) Committee on monkeypox considers that the outbreak of this disease does not constitute a public health emergency at present time.

It is noted that at the current stage, the outbreak should not be characterized as an emergency of international concern.
Despite the positive conclusion, WHO experts still recommended careful monitoring of the epidemiological situation.
