Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Russia discussed Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s visit to Moscow and the VI Caspian Summit

Foreign Ministers Rashid Meredov and Sergey Lavrov discussed a wide range of areas of bilateral cooperation, including preparations for the upcoming visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Russia during a telephone conversation today. This was reported in the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Ministers also discussed a number of issues related to preparations for the VI Caspian Summit to be held in Turkmenistan this year.

As already reported, on April 8, the head of the Russian Federation held a telephone conversation with the new President of Turkmenistan, and the mutual intention to further strengthening the Turkmen-Russian strategic partnership was confirmed. Vladimir Putin invited Serdar Berdimuhamedov to pay a visit to Russia. The invitation was gratefully accepted.

It is expected that during the upcoming visit to Moscow, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov will receive the Russian Order of Friendship, he was awarded "for his great contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan."
