Turkmen athletes won 12 medals of various standards on the last day of competition at the 2022 Asian Sambo Championship in Jounieh (Lebanon). Turkmen athletes have 1 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze medals, informs the official website of FIAS.
Guvanch Begaliyev (98 kg), who performed in the “sport sambo” discipline, became the owner of the gold medal.
Begench Baltayev (74 kg) has “silver” in sports sambo among men, Dinara Ivadullayeva (over 50 kg) and Rano Uzakova (72 kg) in sports sambo among women.
Bronze awards of the Turkmen national team were brought – in sports sambo among women – by Dinara Hallyeva (65 kg), Faride Mammedova (80 kg), Maksuda Egemberdiyeva (over 80 kg), and Muhammetmyrat Babekov (58 kg), Muhammet Kosekov (64 kg), Kakageldy Yegenbayev (71 kg) and Nedir Allaberdyev (88 kg) in sports sambo among men.
In total, the Turkmen team won 22 medals in Lebanon – 3 gold, 5 silver, 14 bronze (5 medals on the first day, 5 on the second and 12 on the last competition day).
260 athletes from 16 countries participated in the tournament.
