The cyclists who are part of the national team of Turkmenistan at the moment are actively training on the basis of the cycle track of the Ashgabat Olympic village. The preparation of athletes for participation in the World Championships and World Cups has intensified. Training holds almost every day, as a result of which athletes alternate high-speed races on the track with classes in the gym. There are also many-kilometer bike rides in high-speed mode along the highway in the foothills of the Kopetdag. Besides that, bicycle maintenance is carried out.

The Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan provides great support to athletes, fully providing food and equipment to cyclists.

The Asian Track Cycling Championships is an annual competition for Asian cyclists in track disciplines under the auspices of the Asian Cycling Confederation. It has been held as an independent tournament since 2017. Earlier, track cycling was included in the program of the Asian Cycling Championship.
