A seminar on the activities of the national human rights institutions in the preparation of human rights reports was held by UNDP and the Office of the Ombudsman in Turkmenistan.
The aim of the seminar was to increase awareness about report of the Ombudsman's Office in Turkmenistan for 2021 and to discuss further effective interaction of the Ombudsman's Office with representatives of law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, various ministries and departments, as well as public associations and civil society organizations in Turkmenistan.
The Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor's Office, the judicial system, other ministries and departments, as well as public associations from Ahal, Mary, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap velayats, and the city of Ashgabat attended the seminar.
The event was held within the framework of “Improving the institutional capacity of the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan” project, implemented jointly by UNDP in Turkmenistan with the Office of the Authorized Representative for Human Rights in Turkmenistan, according to a press release from UNDP.
