Coronavirus vaccination was included in the list of vaccinations for epidemic indications approved by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan. The corresponding Order, signed by the Head of the Department, is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

“Approve the list of preventive vaccinations according to epidemic indications in line with the Annex,” the document says.

In addition to COVID-19, the list includes infectious diseases such as poliomyelitis (A80*), diphtheria (A36), measles (B05), rubella (B06), mumps (B26), viral hepatitis type B (B16), viral hepatitis type A (B15), plague (A20), plague (A00), anthrax (A22), rabies (A82), typhoid fever (A01), meningococcal infection (A39).

We shall add that the National Calendar includes two types of vaccination: preventive and for epidemic indications. The first is aimed at protecting the population from the most dangerous and widespread infections, the second is made only in case of epidemics or the threat of their occurrence.

As explained to Turkmenportal, the inclusion of a coronavirus vaccine in this Calendar does not oblige everyone to be vaccinated. The main advantage of adding the COVID-19 vaccine to the Calendar is the possibility to make it free of charge at the expense of the State Budget.
