Today the next batch of the test systems for COVID-19 PCR diagnostics in the amount of 193 thousand units for the amount of 998,935 euros was transferred by the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan to the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of the country, according to UNDP Press release.
The transfer of test systems took place within the framework of the Project "Turkmenistan COVID-19 Response" with a budget of 20 million US dollars, funded by the World Bank.
The Project is being implemented by UNDP and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry jointly with UNICEF and WHO in Turkmenistan and is aimed at strengthening national capacity in testing and treatment, improving skills of medical staff, purchasing reagents, medicines and medical equipment, as well as eliminating social and health risks associated with the pandemic. The Project supports the introduction of digital solutions for the control of infectious diseases.
To recap, equipment for PCR diagnostics was also transferred within the framework of the Project.
