The meeting on the transition to paperless technology in the system of customs procedures was conducted at the Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

As stated on the website of the Service, Shageldy Sultanmammedov, national expert on promoting paperless trade of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, was a consultant at the meeting.

During the discussions, the ongoing work on the transition to paperless technologies in the system of customs procedures was assessed.

Turkmenistan have completely switched to full-scale electronic customs declaration as a result of the implementation of the integrated customs system ASYCUDA WORLD in the framework of the technical cooperation agreement between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), as well as with the active assistance of UNDP in Turkmenistan.

Currently, a project is being implemented to introduce the “Single Window” system based on this platform, in which the State Customs Service acts as the coordinating body. The project is expected to be completed in 2023.
