During a video conference with representatives of the Ministry of foreign Affairs, the state customs service of Turkmenistan and the UN Conference on trade and development (UNCTAD), key vectors of cooperation were discussed.

The main attention was focused on the implementation of the joint project of the State customs service-UNCTAD-UNDP "Implementation of the Single window of Turkmenistan for international trade". This project is considered in the context of the implementation of the second stage of the "Digital economy development Concept for 2020-2023".

The activities of UNCTAD, which has now been joined by 195 countries, are aimed at providing full support to the development of international trade and equal, mutually beneficial relations, including through the implementation of relevant programs.

Last year, the State customs service and UNCTAD signed a project Agreement on technical cooperation for the implementation of the integrated information system "ASYCUDA World", through which the "Single window" network will be applied in all customs points of Turkmenistan.
Modern software is designed to facilitate the establishment of electronic Declaration, improvement and simplification of registration and document processing procedures.

The use of this system is one of the most important goals clearly outlined in the Program for the development of foreign economic activity of Turkmenistan for 2020-2025, developed under the leadership of the Turkmen leader, approved by the relevant Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on December 6, 2019.

As expected, the use of international experience in the digital economy will significantly simplify customs procedures that will directly promote foreign trade and growth of export of domestically produced products.

Confirming their interest in further deepening the established fruitful cooperation, the parties discussed issues related to Turkmenistan's accession to the UNCTAD Council on trade and development, as well as exchanged views on expanding multilateral partnership, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
