The world's first nasal vaccine for the prevention of coronavirus was registered by the Russian Ministry of Health.

According to secretmag.ru, the nasal form of the Gam-COVID-Vac vaccine (Sputnik V), developed by the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, can be used by people over 18 years old.

The vaccine is administered using a special sprayer into the nasal cavity, thereby forming immunity on the surface of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract and in the blood. The nasal form of the vaccine, as well as the usual Sputnik V, is two-component. Its introduction is carried out with an interval of three weeks.
