The Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his election for the post of the President of Turkmenistan. The text of the congratulatory message was published in today’s edition of the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
“On behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation and my own behalf, I cordially congratulate you with the victory in the elections of the President of Turkmenistan.
Relations between Russia and Turkmenistan, founded on friendship principles and strategic partnership, progressively develop in all directions. Trade and economic, investment, scientific and technical and cultural and humanitarian cooperation expands. Large mutually beneficial projects in the sphere of energy, industry, infrastructure and other areas are being implemented.
I am convinced that further strengthening of government cooperation, increasing practical cooperation, developing interregional ties and business contacts fully meet the interests of Russia and Turkmenistan.

We remind you that on the 12th of March early presidential elections were held in Turkmenistan, following which Serdar Berdimuhamedov was elected President of the country.
