The President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov talked over the telephone with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev, informing him on the results of the presidential elections proclaimed today and thanking him for the input on favorable interstate cooperation, TDH informs.
In turn, Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the head of state with successful conduction of the presidential elections and supported his farsighted solution to bring in young initiative leaders on state building.
The interlocutors expressed confidence that the established relations of trust, respect and mutual understanding between the countries and peoples will directly contribute to the further successful continuation of multifaceted, mutually beneficial interstate cooperation in all spheres.
Berdimuhamedov handed the handset to the newly elected President of Turkmenistan.
Warmly congratulating the newly elected head of the Turkmen state on his convincing victory in the elections, the President of Uzbekistan wished him great success in his activities on this important and responsible post.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that he intends to continue the course started by the previous President of the country, in particular, to take further steps to increase the entire range of bilateral Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation, promote new mutually beneficial projects and programs for the benefit of the fraternal peoples of the two countries.
