The new head of Turkmen state Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed readiness to carry on the course of progressive extension of mutually beneficial partnership with Russia, initiated by the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. It was said by him during the telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin.
The President of Russia expressed his congratulations to Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his convincing victory on the elections and wished him great success in his activities in public service.
During the conversation, the politicians discussed the prospects for building up the Turkmen-Russian dialogue. It was also noted that this year the establishment of diplomatic relations between the states turned 30 years old.
The sides exchanged views on priority issues of bilateral partnership in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and scientific spheres.
Precisely, cooperation between Turkmenistan and the largest regions and subjects of the Russian Federation was highlighted.
As we reported earlier, The Central Election Comiitee summarized the results of the presidential elections, with the result of 72.97% the candidate from the Democratic Party Serdar Berdimuhamedov won. The inauguration of the new President of Turkmenistan will take place on March 19.
