Pandas from Russia Ruyi and Dingding determined the winners of the medal count of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. The animals were asked to choose leaders among identical cones with flags pasted on them, reports the RIA Novosti.
“Before, we have never turned to pandas for help in predicting the outcome of sports. But who, if not them, should make predictions about the Winter Olympics, the capital of which will be Beijing this year,” said Svetlana Akulova, general director of the Moscow zoo.
Dingdin got cones with the flags of China, Sweden, the Netherlands, Russia and Austria, and Ruyi - Norway, Canada, USA, Switzerland and Germany. The victory was awarded to the teams of Russia, China, Germany and the USA.
The panda named Bing Dun Dun has been declared the official mascot of the upcoming competition. There are only a few hours left before the official start of the XXIV Winter Olympic Games, the opening ceremony will take place tomorrow, on February 4.
