Additional agreements on the development of the gas fields in Turkmenistan totaling 106.222 million US dollars will be signed by the State Concern Turkmengaz with the Chinese CNPC. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the corresponding Resolution at a Government meeting today.
Deputy Prime Minister Shakhym Abdrakhmanov, who oversees the fuel and energy sector, said at the meeting that the document envisages the conclusion of additional agreements to provide 16 wells of the Galkynysh gas field with chemical products, preparation of drilling fluids, engineering services for their operation and installing these wells with appropriate equipment. The amount of this contract is 372.274 million Chinese yuan.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, it is also planned to conclude additional agreements "concerning the installation of specialized equipment and the provision of services at the Galkynysh, Garabil and Bagadzha fields”.
"As a result, the total amount of these agreements will be 106,221,809.71 US dollars," the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
After signing the document, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that "investments should be returned by raw materials produced in the country."
Earlier we reported that the Chinese CNPC will complete three wells at the Galkynysh field in exchange for Turkmen gas.
