World Aquatics Championships in Japan postponed to 2023

The International Swimming Federation (FINA) has decided to postpone the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka (Japan) to 2023. It is reported by "Match TV" with reference to the President of the All-Russian Swimming Federation Vladimir Salnikov.

FINA's decision is related to the epidemiological situation and the circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Initially, the World Aquatics Championships were planned to be held at the same location in the summer of 2021, but on these dates the postponed 2020 Olympics took place in Japan.

The exact dates for the World Cup in 2023 have not yet been determined.

World Aquatics Championships are held every two years. The last World Aquatics Championship was held in Gwangju (Republic of Korea) in the summer of 2019.
