Turkmenistan was the largest supplier of aviation fuel to Georgia in 2021

In 2021, Turkmenistan took the first place in the supply of aviation fuel to Georgia. The Report agency informs of it with reference to the Union of Importers of Petroleum Products of Georgia.

Over the past period, the supply of aviation fuel from Turkmenistan amounted to 57.7 thousand tons. Azerbaijan is in the second place in terms of supplies, which delivered 12 thousand tons of products over the year.

In total, Georgia imported 96.4 thousand tons of aviation fuel, which is 70.9% more than a year earlier.

At the end of July 2021, it was known that the specialists of TKNPZ (Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries) launched the production of aviation kerosene of a new brand - Jet A-1. This type of fuel is the European equivalent of aviation kerosene TS-1, also produced at the TKNPZ. It is used in gas turbine engines of civil aviation aircrafts in Europe, the USA and Canada, including Airbus and Boeing airliners. In September 2021, TKNPZ also started producing aviation fuel for An-2 aircraft.
