Specialists of the biotechnological laboratory of the Center of Technology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan offered entrepreneurs, who cultivate the paulownia tree to help them quickly and efficiently grow healthy seedlings. This was reported in the publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
According to the head of the laboratory, Ayna Atayeva, the most advanced and fundamentally new method is used for this - micro clonal propagation of plants, in other words, the production of plants under in “vitro” conditions (i.e., in a test tube) that are genetically identical to the originally taken specimen.
Plants obtained by this method quickly move to the reproductive phase of their development. They are easily freed from viruses, this method can be carried out all year round, very significantly saving on areas for planting material.
Let us remind you that in Turkmenistan, many farms have actively taken up the cultivation of an unpretentious and fast-growing paulownia tree, since the benefits from tree cultivation are direct. Its timber, roots, leaves and flowers are in great demand on the world market. Wood is used in the manufacture of furniture and musical instruments, roots, leaves and flowers - in the pharmaceutical industry, perfumery, biotechnology and other areas.
