A commercial font was created for the first time in Turkmenistan. The font, named Garagum after the Karakum Desert, was designed by Belli Creative. According to the studio, the technical features of the font, which is mainly intended for decorative purposes, make it possible to use it not only in the Turkmen language, but also in almost all languages based on the Latin alphabet.

The advanced technical characteristics of the Garagum font have made it a typeface of world importance. This is why Garagum font was recently listed for sale on Myfonts, the world's largest font platform. The platform, owned by the Monotype company, was founded in the 19th century and is very popular in the typographic world with its base of about 60 thousand fonts.

Garagum font is not the first font to be created by Belli Creative. This is the first Turkmen typeface created for commercial purposes. The studio previously created the Ashgabat 2017 font for the informational and decorative works of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in 2017 in Ashgabat. This font was used in all decorative works of the event.

The specialists of the well-known studio Belli Creative work using wide possibilities, the font they have created fully corresponds to modern innovative technological conditions. The studio specialists worked on the creation of the new font for about 4 months. The new Garagum font is created in Open Type and True Type formats and includes all the possibilities for use on digital platforms.

The Garagum font specifications consist of 238 glyphs, 13 letter alternatives, and several types of ligatures. The creation of the font was inspired by the ornaments of books used in Turkmen national manuscripts, the geographical features of the Karakum Desert and the peculiar forms of sandy slopes. The aesthetic feature of the 9-turn typeface is reminiscent of the embossed shape of the sandy slopes.

The font is currently available on the Myfonts platform. Also on the website of the Belli Creative studio there is more interesting information about the font. Those wishing to use this font can purchase the right to use the font anywhere in the world.
