President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Law on the State Budget of the country for 2022. The Turkmen state budget for next year turned out to be larger than this one.
According to the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper today, the volume of these funds next year will amount to 85,619 million 200 thousand manat (more than 24 billion US dollars at the rate of the Central Bank). In 2021, the country's state budget was at the level of 79,509.6 million manats (almost 22,7 billion US dollars).
Article 2 of the law states that the size of the centralized budget will amount to 77,421,500,000 manat (approximately 22.2 billion US dollars). At the same time, about 4% of these funds (3,101.2 million manat) will be directed to balancing local budgets. Most of the corresponding money (1,520.3 million manats) will be directed to Dashoguz velayat.
The size of local budgets will be 11,299 million manats (over 3 billion US dollars). A significant part of the funds (2,325.2 million manats) is directed towards Lebap velayat.
The budget provides that over 70% of the funds will be spent on the development of the social sphere, education, health care system, culture, social security system.
The protected items of expenditure of the state budget of Turkmenistan remained wages, pensions, state benefits and scholarships.
