Turkmenistan will purchase the necessary equipment, software for the development of the cellular communication network “Altyn Asyr” in Ashgabat and the regions. The corresponding Resolution was signed today by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the “Vatan” news program of the Turkmen television reported.
According to the document, the agency “Turkmenvyaz” is allowed to conclude contracts with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. for the purchase of equipment, software and licenses, transportation, installation, commissioning and technical support for the development of the cellular communication network “Altyn Asyr” in Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz velayats and the city of Ashgabat.
And for the development of the cellular communication network “Altyn Asyr” in Lebap and Mary velayats, the agency will conclude a contract with the Finnish company Nokia Solution and Networks Oy.
It should be reminded that “Altyn Asyr” is the only mobile operator in Turkmenistan. According to various sources, the company serves over 3.7 million subscribers.
