Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have formed a commission for the development of transport and transit communications. The composition of the Commission from the Turkmen side at today's meeting of the Government was approved by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

According to the General Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers Mammetkhan Chakyev, the decision to create a Turkmen-Uzbek commission for the development of transport and transit communication was made in accordance with the Protocol signed in Tashkent on September 1 in order to increase neighboring countries.s

According to the official information of the Turkmen side, in January-September international cargo transportation by rail amounted to 6.1 million tons, including the export and import of goods with Uzbekistan - 885.6 thousand tons.

In January-September, 7,485 foreign truck trailers and semi-trailers crossed the territory of Turkmenistan, including 2,914 trucks through border checkpoints with Uzbekistan, and 2,046 trucks were imported.

Berdimuhamedov instructed the General Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications M. Chakyev to take measures to increase transit rail and road freight traffic, as well as increase their volumes with other neighboring countries.
