President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in connection with the crash of the L-410 aircraft in the Menzelinsky region of the republic, tatar.inform reports today.
“Please accept my deepest condolences in connection with the crash of the L-410 plane near the city of Menzelinsk, which resulted in human casualties and injuries. At this difficult moment, on behalf of the people and the Government of Turkmenistan, as well as on my own behalf, and request you to convey words of empathy and support to all the relatives and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the victims,” Berdimuhamedov's telegram says.
On the morning of October 10, a light-engine aircraft L-410, on board of which there were 22 people, fell, according to a preliminary version, due to an engine failure near the RES base in Menzelinsk. 16 people died, six are in serious condition. According to Russian media, this crash was the largest in the country in three months and the largest crash of this type of aircraft in Russia since 1993.
The authorities of Tatarstan declared October 11 a day of mourning.
