If you have not seen the trees blooming in winter, then this little miracle is worth seeing: in the botanical garden of Ashgabat, the winterflower has opened its fragrant flowers.
Winter bloom or early chimonant is so named because it blooms in winter. At the same time, pale yellow flowers appear on completely bare branches. The flowers, although small in size, are very pretty: the outer petals are light yellow, and the inner ones are purple.
The flowers of the winterflower are modest, but their aroma is very thick, rich, reminiscent of jasmine. Approaching the flowering branch, you can feel the completely enveloping fragrant smell and feel the approach of spring.
Although we called our chimonant a tree, it is actually a deciduous shrub of the Calicanth family that can grow up to 3 meters in height. Its homeland is China.
For the first time the winterflower appeared in the Ashgabat botanical garden in 1937. Ten bushes regularly bloom and bear fruit on the territory of the garden. Their flowering time is from November 18 to August 1. Flowers on the bush keep for 30-95 days.
Therefore, looking into the botanical garden, do not forget to admire the flowering of the himonant!
