On the extended meeting of the Government held on 11th of December in “Ruhyyet” Palace in the capital city the President of Turkmenistan entrusted to the Ministry of External Affairs to intensify efforts in direction of the United Nations Organization and to consolidate the Embassy of Turkmenistan in New York, Geneva and Vienna with experienced staff. It is reported in today’s newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
This year Turkmenistan is chosen as Vice – Chair of the 75th session of UNO General Assembly and also started to work in the capacity of the member of UN panel on human population and Executive Council of World Food Program. Our country also by general consent is accepted to a number of UNO important structures, such as The Commission on Science and Technology for Development, the Commission for Social Development and the Commission on Narcotic Drugs.
The nomination and adoption at the UN of numerous draft documents prepared by Turkmenistan aimed at strengthening the role and importance of neutrality in maintaining global peace, security and sustainable development is of no little interest.
In this context, the head of state during the current session of the General Assembly emphasized the need to conduct active and purposeful work with the member states and the UN Secretariat, to explain the importance of adopting these documents that meet the long-term interests and strategic goals of the world community.
