Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Italian Republic (Rome) Komekov Toyli Babayevich has been appointed Permanent representative of Turkmenistan to the Food and agriculture organization of the United Nations (FAO). The corresponding Decree was Signed today by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the information program "Watan" of the Turkmen television reported.
As Permanent representative of Turkmenistan to the Food and agriculture organization of the United Nations T.Komekov was replaced by former Ambassador of our country Italy Berdimyrat Rejepov.
The main task of the United Nations (Food and Agriculture Organization, FAO) is to fight hunger. The FAO serves as a forum where developed and developing countries discuss and agree on policy decisions in the field of food security on an equal footing.
In addition, the FAO serves as a source of information and helps developing countries improve agricultural, forestry and fish farming practices, and strives to ensure healthy nutrition and food security for all. The organization's motto in Latin Yak – "Fiat panis" - translates as "Let there be bread".
