The international conference, organized By the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia, was attended by employees of the country's foreign Ministry, accredited ambassadors, diplomats, the head of the administration of the Institute of strategic and international studies of Malaysia and representatives of local business circles. The theme of the conference was dedicate to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutral status and timed to coincide with the Declaration of 2020 as the year of "Turkmenistan-the birthplace of Neutrality".
In his opening speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Malaysia noted that this year Turkmenistan marks a significant date in its modern history – the 25th anniversary of the country's neutrality status. The principles and values of neutrality have proved their full compliance with the national interests of our country and the goals and objectives of the UN.
The ambassadors of Afghanistan, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan, who spoke at the conference, noted the unique opportunities and positive role of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality in ensuring peace and stability in the region and cordially congratulated the Turkmen people and the President of Turkmenistan on this significant holiday.
