Transport and logistics company “KTZ Express” for the first time organized the shipment of polypropylene across the Caspian Sea from the international seaport of Turkmenbashi to China's Qingdao via the port of Aktau, the publication "Railway of Kazakhstan" reports.

The first 48 containers with polypropylene were delivered in 24 hours by sea from the port of Turkmenbashi to the port of Aktau. Then the cargo went to the Kazakh border station Altynkol for further transportation to China.

The train will cover a distance of 7,500 kilometers in 10 days.

The route is optimal in terms of time and cost-effective for exporting polypropylene to China, and also provides an impetus for increasing the volume of cargo flows through the ports of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. The positive experience of this pilot shipment can start a regular service for the delivery of polypropylene by sea.

Polyethylene and polypropylene, which are produced at the polymer plant in Kiyanli in the Balkan province, are exported both to the domestic market.

Recall that in November 2019, the first container train to China was sent from Turkmenistan in transit through the territory of Kazakhstan through the joint efforts of JSC "Transport and logistics center Turkmenistan" and JSC "KTZ Express".
