The spread of coronavirus infection has had a negative impact on the economy of all States. Nevertheless, despite the difficult financial and economic conditions in the world, Turkmenistan has achieved sustainable development of its economy and was able to keep significant amounts of financial resources in reserve. This was stated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking today at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan.
"We must take all measures to implement in the current difficult conditions the five – year development program of the country adopted at last year's meeting of the Halk Maslahaty," Berdimuhamedov said.
According to the State news Agency of Turkmenistan, priority issues of state life have been put on the agenda of the national forum. Its meeting is being chaired by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the first time via direct video link.
