Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are implementing a new project in the sphere of the road transport industry

A new project in the field of transport and logistics cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan is the construction by the Turkmen side of a highway to the border with Kazakhstan and a bridge across The Garabogazgol Bay, Trend news Agency reports, citing the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

The foreign Ministry noted that the implementation of this project will increase the turnover of goods and passenger traffic.

"This project will become another bright symbol of friendship between the two countries," the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.

Recall that a two-way road with a width of 22.5 meters will be laid along the highway from the city of Turkmenbashi in the Balkan velayat to the border with Kazakhstan with a length of 225 kilometers, as well as related infrastructure facilities, it is planned to build a bridge over The Garabogazgol Bay with a length of 354 meters and a roadway width of 21 meters. Parking lots, gas stations, service stations, shops, food cafes, buildings of highway maintenance services and traffic police will be built along the highway.

The upgraded highway will be a continuation of the Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi high-speed highway.
