A cybersecurity certification Department will be set up in the Central office of the Main state service "Türkmenstandartlary", with the help of which it is planned to establish work on certification of technical equipment and software produced in our country and imported from abroad. This information was announced at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held today.
As you know, in accordance with the state program of Turkmenistan for ensuring cybersecurity and the Plan for the implementation of the state program of Turkmenistan for ensuring cybersecurity for 2017-2021, approved by the Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on June 7, 2017, the Main state service "Türkmenstandartlary" is assigned the function of checking and certifying technical means and software in this area.
"The development of national standards and methods in the field of information security, including harmonization with international standards and technical regulations, is one of the priority directions of Turkmenistan's development," President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at the Government meeting.
In General, having approved the proposal submitted by Deputy Prime Minister Gadyrgeldy Mushshikov, the President of Turkmenistan instructed to take appropriate measures for the successful implementation of the tasks arising from the"state program of Turkmenistan for ensuring cybersecurity".
Addressing the hyakims of the velayats and the city of Ashgabat, the Turkmen leader noted the need to keep the focus on issues related to the implementation of this Program on the ground, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
