The world's first coronavirus vaccine is registered in Russia. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with members of the government, Interfax reports.
Asked the Minister of health of Mihail Murashko tell you about this vaccine, Putin said: "I know that it works quite effectively, forms a stable immune system, and I repeat: it has passed all the necessary checks."
Tests of the vaccine have shown high efficacy and safety of the drug, the health Minister said. "All the volunteers developed high titers of antibodies to COVID-19. At the same time, no serious complications of immunization were observed in any of them, " Murashko added.
The vaccine developed by the Gamalei research center will be produced by the Center in cooperation with “Binnopharm”.
The Russian direct investment Fund (RDIF) will promote the vaccine abroad, as a number of countries have already shown interest in it.
Murashko also said that in parallel, the phased use of the vaccine in civil circulation will begin: "First of all, we consider it necessary to offer vaccination to medical workers and teachers."
