A two-day videoconference workshop is being held by the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) Office in Turkmenistan to assist in the preparation of the next National report to the UN Committee on the rights of the child. This is reported by the state news Agency of Turkmenistan.
The webinar was attended by representatives of ministries, state and public organizations that are members of the Working group of experts of the Interdepartmental Commission on ensuring compliance with Turkmenistan's international obligations in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law.
As noted, Turkmenistan is working systematically to implement its commitments, as well as to strengthen cooperation in this area.
This year, our country will submit a regular periodic report to the Committee on the rights of the child, which will highlight the progress made in advancing the child rights Agenda in the context of achieving the sustainable development Goals.
In this regard, the importance of expanding cooperation within the Framework of the country program of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNICEF for 2021-2025 in the key areas of ensuring the well – being of children, namely, in governance, health, social protection, as well as quality inclusive education was noted.
