Today, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev had a telephone conversation.
The head of state cordially congratulated the national leader of Kazakhstan on the recently celebrated 80th anniversary and wished him good health, inexhaustible vitality and success in his responsible activities aimed at further prosperity of the Kazakh people.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the invaluable personal contribution of Nursultan Nazarbayev to the strengthening of relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with the nearest neighbors in Central Asia.
In response, expressing sincere gratitude for the congratulations and kind words, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the high level of mutual understanding and trust inherent in interstate relations and being a reliable basis for their further successful development.
During the telephone conversation, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction the progressive dynamics of the Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation.
As President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, Turkmenistan is very happy about the recovery of Elbasy, who, thanks to the strength of will and spirit, was able to overcome the disease and return to creative activities for the benefit of Kazakhstan.
The interlocutors also paid attention to the global problems related to the coronavirus pandemic and international efforts to overcome it.
One of these ways, as the Turkmen leader noted, is to promote partnership through scientific diplomacy, including the interaction of scientists in the field of determining the origin of coronavirus, the causes and conditions of its occurrence.
It is known that substances dangerous to human health, including viruses, can be carried by air currents, especially in a complex environmental environment. Central Asia is one of the most sensitive and environmentally vulnerable regions in the world. One of the main reasons for this is the problem of the Aral Sea.
Air masses that form in the Aral Sea zone and spread over a vast geographical area have a negative impact on nature and climate and pose a special danger to the health of people living not only in this region, but also outside it.
Turkmenistan, which supports the creation of a Special UN program for the Aral Sea basin, is taking concrete steps to develop this initiative.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov continued that on August 24, 2018, at the IFAS Summit in “Avaza”, You spoke in support of Turkmenistan's proposals for a comprehensive solution of the Aral Sea issues at the UN level.
"I clearly remember Your words in support of this position. Then You stressed that "during the life of one generation of people, a whole sea disappeared from the face of the planet Earth," the Turkmen leader said.
Speaking about the need for coordinated actions to eliminate the consequences of this environmental disaster, the head of Turkmenistan expressed readiness to establish regular contacts between medical scientists, ecologists and other specialists of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in the very near future.
Such a professional partnership will make a significant contribution to ensuring environmental well-being in the Central Asian region, protecting the health of people living here, and fighting the global pandemic.
We are confident that the implementation of joint plans will continue in the future, the head of state said.
At the end of the conversation, the President of Turkmenistan and the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan exchanged best wishes for each other and fraternal peoples, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
