Turkmenistan and Russia can lift all restrictions on the frequency of flights and the number of designated carriers between the two countries, TASS reports, citing the Federal air transport Agency.
The commitment to remove all restrictions on frequency of air travel between Russia and Turkmenistan made the Director of the Department for state policy in civil aviation Ministry of transport of Russia Svetlana Petrova.
Currently, there are no flights between Russia and Turkmenistan due to the temporary closure of international flights. As a rule, flights between countries are performed on the basis of an air traffic agreement. It strictly limits the number of carriers from both countries that can operate flights and the frequency of flights on contract lines.
Accordingly, the number of air carriers may increase significantly, and air traffic between Turkmenistan and Russia will become more frequent. The designated carriers of the two countries are currently S7 Airlines and “Turkmen airlines”. Russian Nordwind Airlines also has the right to fly.
