The Turkmen-American political consultations, which were attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan V. Hadjiev and Deputy Assistant Secretary of state for Central Asian Affairs, public diplomacy and the press J. Henick, were held today in the format of a videoconference. This is reported by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The parties discussed effective partnership mechanisms that currently exist within the framework of political and diplomatic relations between the two countries and prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in various areas of relations, including political, economic and humanitarian areas, as well as interaction to overcome the impact on the socio-economic component of the pandemic situation.
It was noted that the parties actively cooperate in the format of C5+1 multilateral interaction established between the Central Asian countries and the United States.
During the meeting, the diplomats discussed in detail the implementation of previously reached agreements within the framework of the Turkmen-American Business Council. In connection with the current situation caused by the coronavirus, the Turkmen side proposed to hold a business video conference with the participation of heads of American companies and heads of industry departments of Turkmenistan in the fall of this year.
