Today, during the regular meeting of the co-Chairs of the Turkmen-Tatarstan working group on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, which was held in the format of a videoconference, priority areas of partnership were discussed.
The delegations were headed by Minister of Finance and economy of Turkmenistan Ezizgeldi Annamuhammedov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of industry and trade of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Albert Karimov.
During the negotiations the parties discussed the issues of implementation of decisions of the previous meeting of the working group, including in trade-economic and humanitarian fields. Among the priority areas of mutually beneficial partnership, machine-building, petro chemistry, aviation industry, shipbuilding, agriculture and others were noted. It was noted that in 2019, the volume of mutual trade between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan increased 5 times and amounted to more than 120 million US dollars, and in the first quarter of 2020, this figure was almost 33 million us dollars.
Within the framework of the working group, the parties reached significant agreements in various sectors of partnership, including on enhancing the interaction of the Turkmen side with leading companies of the Republic of Tatarstan: "KAMAZ", "Tatneft", "Kazan helicopter plant", shipbuilding Corporation "AK bars", "MVEN", Management company "Complex energy Development –holding", PJSC "Kazancompressormash", "Tulpar", "Yelabuzh battery plant", JSC "Kukmor metal vessels plant", "Tatkhimfarmpreparaty", "Eidos-medicine", "Arkodim", JSC "Neftech", "KAMA", LLC "MTZ-Tatarstan and RariTEK», as well as others.
In the field of humanitarian cooperation, partnership in the scientific and educational sphere was highlighted, including training and advanced training of personnel for the branches of the Turkmen economy, joint research in oil production, as well as the establishment of an active dialogue between scientists of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation.
In the context of enhancing cultural interaction, Albert Karimov proposed to hold the Days of culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in Turkmenistan in 2021, and invited them to take part in the XVI Kazan international festival of Muslim cinema on September 4-9, 2020.
The next 7th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tatarstan Working group is scheduled for the end of this year, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
