OSCE consultations held in Turkmenistan

Today, the Ministry of Finance and economy held online consultations with the OSCE as part of the national preparation for the Mutual assessment of the Eurasian group on countering the legalization of criminal proceeds and the financing of terrorism (EAG). This is reported by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Today's meeting was held with international consultant Svetlana Poddubskaya on "The First draft of the report on technical compliance of the national system of Turkmenistan for countering money laundering and terrorist financing".

The consultations discussed the process of mutual assessment of the FATF methodology (international group for the development of financial measures to combat money laundering), including issues of technical compliance of legislation with FATF standards, understanding of relevant risks, transparency of legal entities and entities, and supervision in the financial sector. Issues such as international cooperation in the fight against the legalization of criminal proceeds and the financing of terrorism, targeted financial sanctions, as well as supervision in the sector of established non-financial enterprises and professions were also discussed.

In addition to consultations, expert comments and suggestions on the draft report were also provided.

The consultations were attended by representatives of the Ministry of foreign Affairs, Finance and economy, adalat, the Supreme court, the State Statistics Committee, the state commodity exchange, the State customs service, the Central Bank and a number of commercial banks, postal organizations that provide money transfer services, as well as representatives of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat.
