Ways to activate the interstate dialogue and other important issues were discussed today during an online meeting between the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the head of the foreign Ministry of the Republic of Turkey Mevlut Chavushoglu. The talks, held in videoconference format, were a continuation of a telephone conversation between leaders of the two countries – Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Recep Tayyip Erdogan held yesterday, according to the State news Agency of Turkmenistan.
During the conversation, the two Presidents agreed to give instructions to their foreign ministries to further develop partnership relations, strengthen their transport and transit, trade and economic components, and intensify cooperation in other relevant areas.
During the current online meeting, the Ministers outlined new vectors for realizing mutual potential, taking into account the state and trends of the modern world order. The diplomats stressed the importance of combining efforts to counter the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, based on the experience and practice of cooperation.
The heads of diplomatic departments of the two countries also discussed a wide range of issues in the political, diplomatic, trade and economic fields in the context of the objective situation at the regional and global levels. The parties attached great importance to the gradual establishment of "green corridors" for cargo and goods in accordance with the requirements of sanitary and phyto sanitary control at the borders.
It was stressed the importance of regular contacts at various levels between the two countries and the active resumption of bilateral meetings of delegations from the public and private sectors, at the initial stage in the online mode.
