In Ashgabat, a military parade with the participation of Turkmen soldiers took place on the square near the memorial complex "Halk hakydasy" (people's memory) in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

The Battle flag of the 748th rifle regiment of the 206th rifle division of the 2nd Ukrainian front, where Berdimuhamed Annayev, the grandfather of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, fought, was delivered to the memorial from the Ashgabat International airport.

President of Turkmenistan, Supreme commander-in-Chief of the country's Armed Forces, General of the army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov welcomed the participants of the parade from the viewing platform.

Addressing the audience, the head of state congratulated the Turkmen people and, above all, war and labor veterans on the 75th anniversary of the great Victory widely celebrated in our country.

As the President noted, our country made a worthy contribution to this Grand Victory. Soldiers from Turkmenistan, who passed through the crucible of the last war, demonstrated a high example of valor, heroism and loyalty to the Motherland. More than 70 thousand of them were awarded orders and medals. 104 Turkmen citizens were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union, 15 became full holders of the order of Glory. Thousands of our countrymen have died in brutal battles.

Our people surrounded the people evacuated from the frontline with brotherly care and worked selflessly. The President noted with pride that Turkmen women demonstrated high humanism by donating about 7,400 kilograms of gold and silver jewelry to the defense Fund.

The older generation is our pride, the head of Turkmenistan stressed. Protecting peace on earth, a happy future, our fathers and grandfathers covered themselves with unfading glory.

The head of state noted that today, guided by the legal status of neutrality, Turkmenistan is making great efforts to strengthen peace throughout the world. Conducts necessary work to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with various countries of the world, strengthen the atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, more than 4,500 war and labor veterans from Turkmenistan were awarded the jubilee medal "75 years of Victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945".

Despite the fact that the harsh years of war have long passed, the suffering, pain and loss of the people, their courage, will never be forgotten, will forever live in the memory of posterity as an unfading symbol of heroism.

Then the floor was given to the Deputy Minister of defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin.

Addressing veterans, soldiers and all Turkmen citizens, the Russian guest noted that today we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the end of the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945-a war that showed the heroism and fortitude of the Soviet people to the whole world.

As it was emphasized, it was the Soviet people who became the reliable stronghold of all mankind, the main liberator from the brown plague. May 9, 1945-the day of our sorrow, pride and "joy with tears in our eyes", as the song says, our boundless gratitude to the defenders of the Fatherland who defeated Nazism.

On this day, we honor the people who forged a great Victory in that terrible war, and bow our heads to the memory of those who, at the cost of their lives, protected our land from the Nazis.

For this day, they fought and worked, passed the path of inhuman trials, became an insurmountable stronghold for the invaders in the heat of battle. They endured everything. We gave everything we could, including our lives, but we won.

Many went to the front line right from school and remained forever on the battlefields, not knowing the joy of love and the happiness of having children.

As A. Fomin noted, more than 300 thousand soldiers of Turkmenistan took part in battles on all fronts of the war and reached the walls of the Reichstag. 104 of them were awarded the high title "Hero of the Soviet Union".

Industrial enterprises and military hospitals were deployed on the territory of Turkmenistan, educational institutions were evacuated here, and agricultural production was increased many times.

We will never forget the warmth and care with which the fraternal Turkmen people received orphaned children from the Soviet republics that were scorched by the war. This is a clear example of the unity of the entire country in the face of a cruel and merciless enemy.

Noting that now, unfortunately, in a number of countries there are attempts to revive the Nazi ideology, falsify the common history, glorify traitors and redefine the role of the Soviet people in the victory over fascism, the Deputy Defense Minister of Russia said that our task, our conscience and our responsibility, as descendants of victorious soldiers, to whom we owe what we are, to cherish the memory of their feet and protect the true heroes.

The guest of honor said that in the name of preserving historical memory, the battle banner of the 748th rifle regiment of the 206th rifle division of the 2nd Ukrainian front is being handed over to the fraternal Turkmen people for eternal storage. It will also be a reminder of the sacrifice that the Turkmen people made to bring Victory closer.

It was under this banner that Berdimuhamed Annayev, the grandfather of the respected Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich, The President of Turkmenistan, went to battle. We bow down to all veterans, the generation of winners.

We live today in peace, good neighborhood and fraternal friendship, and it is impossible to share the feat that our grandfathers and fathers performed, A. Fomin said. We will honor all of You, dear veterans, and glorify the victory that was, is, and will remain the same for all of us. Low bow to You!
