An online lecture on the activities of the world intellectual property organization (WIPO) was held for students of Turkmen universities by Michal Svantner, Director of the Department of transition and developed countries (TDC), and Ilya Gribkov, head of the Department's Department for the Caucasus, Central Asia and Eastern European countries. The lecture was conducted from the Geneva headquarters of WIPO.
Listeners were students and teachers of the Turkmen state University named after Magtymguly, the International University of humanitarian Sciences and development, Institute of international relations of the foreign Ministry, the Turkmen state Institute of Economics and management Turkmen state Institute of culture.
WIPO, as one of the UN specialized agencies, contributes to the development of national systems for the protection of intellectual property, the development and promotion of innovations. The organization consists of 193 States, including Turkmenistan.
During the lecture, which was broadcast to each of the above-mentioned universities, representatives of WIPO told the audience about the organization's structure, training programs used to expand knowledge and skills in the field of intellectual property.
Special attention was paid to international instruments for the protection of intellectual property, including the use of relevant standards in this area, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
