Measures to counter the coronavirus pandemic were discussed during an online meeting between the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Director of the regional office for Europe of the world health organization, Dr. Hans Kluge.
In this regard, referring to the recent telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, Hans Kluge stressed the importance of the Turkmen leader's initiatives.
The head of the who regional office for Europe noted that the epidemiological situation in the world for infectious diseases in the field of public health continues to be tense. In this regard, it was emphasized that with the assistance of who, Turkmenistan has established systematic work on the prevention and diagnosis of diseases in accordance with international standards.
The participants of the meeting stated that in order to further strengthen the national system of prevention of infectious diseases, it is necessary to strengthen measures for sanitary and epidemiological surveillance, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
