The President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree on the construction of power lines for the supply of electricity to Afghanistan

Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on the construction of a 220 kW power transmission line to the Turkmen-Afghan border in the direction of Mary HPP – Herat city of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The document allows the Ministry of energy to sign a corresponding agreement with TAPP-500 Power Transmission Line FZE, a subsidiary of "Çalyk Holding A. Ş." (Republic of Turkey), the press service of the head of state reported.
The decree requires that construction work begin in February 2020 and that the power line be delivered in August 2021.

This decision was made "in order to increase the volume of Turkmen electricity supplied to foreign countries, as well as the successful implementation of the project of laying the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power line," the Turkmen leader said in the Resolution
